Introduction

Thrips and whitefly can cause considerable economic damage in the covered cultivation of beans. The dense foliage of bean crops makes chemical pest control difficult to carry out well. In addition, the intensive spraying of a vulnerable crop such as beans can easily inhibit growth and result in a loss of productivity and quality. Trials and practical experience have shown that Amblyseius swirskii could play an important role in combating these two infestations in bean crops.
